A lot of commuters are suffering because of lack of discipline by both the PUV drivers and traffic management officials. That is why a lot of Filipino people are getting their own vehicle to feel safer and hassle-free.

1. PUV Driver’s Fixed Rate 

• According to the DOTr, under the PUV modernization program jeepney drivers will finally feel the security of a monthly salary, along with benefits. • According to Chua, they are currently considering a hulugan loaning system where drivers will pay every day for the loan money that they will use to purchase better jeepneys.
• With this, drivers would not need to pay the jeepneys in full before using them. The challenge, according to Chua, is making sure that the drivers don’t get buried in debt. 3. Commuter’s and Driver’s Safety

• For one, it’ll make commuting safer. The new vehicles will be equipped with GPS and CCTVs to monitor both drivers and passengers. They’ll also have speed limiters, and safety officers will be assigned. The entire public transport network promises to be expanded and planned out better, plus the new vehicles will have easier access for PWDs and those with limited mobility.
